A little about this Side Quest
There’s nothing more beautiful than an iridescent Paua (Abalone)
This Paua-Pair incorporates a myriad of wool colours, and each was crocheted in one continuous line – from the colourful centre outwards, then back over itself to create the rustic outer shell.
This is a one-of-a-kind Tangled Side Quest, handmade by me in Whangārei, Aotearoa NZ. There is only one available. While there may be other Paua in the future, there will never be another exactly the same…

Approximate size:
Height of big Paua: 8 cm, height of little Paua 6 cm
Width of big Paua: 30 cm, width of little Paua 8 cm
Length/depth of big Paua: 35 cm, length of little Paua 10 cm
Materials:
This creation is a fun & chaotic mix of new and 2nd-hand wools, and acrylic & novelty yarns with hand-stitched details. I especially love incorporating recycled, upcycled and 2nd-hand leftovers into my works.
Handmade & one of a kind
Each Tangled Side Quest is designed and made individually by hand — intentionally slow-cooked with love and proudly AI-free. There are no commercial patterns here; each creation comes straight out of my head and hands, using a selection of whatever yarns/leftover wool balls happen to be on hand in my overflowing stash. I don’t make identical copies, so once this one finds a home, this particular Side Quest is gone.
Small irregularities and quirks are all part of the handmade nature of the work.
Care
This piece is intended primarily as a decorative fibre-art piece rather than a toy.
Spot clean gently if required. Please avoid machine washing and keep away from prolonged dampness, strong direct sunlight and enthusiastic pets. 😅

Preparing for the journey: Please allow 2–4 business days for your Side Quest to be carefully packaged and handed over to the courier. Delivery time is additional and depends on your location. Weekend and public-holiday orders will begin their journey from the next business day.
Whangārei: Free local delivery or arranged handover is available within the Whangārei area. I’ll contact you after purchase to arrange delivery to your address or a mutually convenient public meeting place.

Colours can vary slightly between screens and photographs. Measurements are approximate due to the gloriously non-geometric nature of handmade crochet.
