Lovingly handcrafting unique, creative & beautiful kiwi resources!
No, unfortunately not! My artworks are all created digitally (but digitally hand-drawn), saved as high-resolution image files, and then sent to you to take to your local printer. Your printer can then produce the artwork at the agreed size, ready to mount on your wall.
Pretty big! Some of the large welcome murals in the gallery above are approximately 2.5 × 1.5 metres.
This is a hard question to answer, as every project is different! It will cost less if I can pull from my bank of pre-drawn objects (e.g. common native birds, trees, symbols, etc.), and if you have a clear idea of your finished image and a specific brief.
It will take more time if you’re wanting a unique illustration of that special skyline, maunga, awa or local legend that’s specific to your corner of Aotearoa. It can also take more time if the brief is more relaxed and we need to go backwards and forwards tweaking things — not a problem at all, just something to be aware of if you’re working within a particular budget.
I’m normally booked up at least a couple of months in advance, so the sooner you can let me know your timeline, the better. If you have a particular deadline in mind, please include that when you first get in touch.
You email me and let me know your idea — I love a scribbly piece of paper, a classroom brainstorm, or an email filled with details and keywords! I’ll then send you some specific questions to help me get a really good feel for what you’re looking for.
From there, I should be able to provide a more specific quote and an idea of the timeline. Then I let all those ideas percolate and settle before getting creative!
I’ll put together an initial draft for you to take back and discuss with your class or team. From there, we can tweak, edit and make changes until everything feels just right
Absolutely! Your finished custom artwork is yours to use within your school or organisation — for example, on displays, signage, newsletters, your website or social media. I retain the copyright to my original artwork and illustrations, which means the artwork can’t be resold, redistributed or passed on to another organisation for their use. If you’d like to use it for something outside the original project — particularly something you’re planning to sell — just get in touch and we can have a chat about it.
AI-generated images and super-crisp Photoshopped graphics aren’t really my thing.
I like my artwork to look like it was made by a human — because it was! Expect hand-drawn lines, slightly wonky shapes, heaps of colour, texture and character. Every custom piece is digitally hand-drawn by me, with all the little quirks and imperfections that come along with that.
If you’re looking for perfectly polished, photo-realistic artwork, I’m probably not your person. But if you’re after something bright, joyful, a little bit quirky and unmistakably hand-created… then lesss goooo!
